Your training year
At the start of the training period, you and your tutor will sign a learning contract in which you commit to meeting your respective responsibilities as trainee and tutor.
Throughout the year, you are required to build up a portfolio of evidence for your tutor to assess, as well as demonstrating your competence when being observed at work.
Training year
Before you begin your training, you will receive a GPhC pre-registration manual. The manual provides an overview of pre-registration training and the GPhC requirements for the training year.
It sets out the performance standards against which your competencies will be measured during the training year. These performance standards describe what you must be able to do and how you must behave in order to gain entry to the GPhC register.
The manual also contains the syllabus for the registration assessment.

Training year communications
You will receive a number of communications from us. These will update you on any changes and help support you in your training.
