The only exceptions to this are those undertaking the Bradford Sandwich course, which is a five-year integrated MPharm degree.
Preparing for your training year
The GPhC has developed a workbook that contains useful information and activities. These help you to prepare for the training year, to learn and develop effectively, and to demonstrate your competence to your tutor.
All trainees are required to achieve competence in a defined set of performance standards during their 52-week training programme. These are:
- Personal effectiveness
- Interpersonal skills
- Medicines and health
The pre-registration year is designed to develop and test competence in practice against these standards, and specifically:
- application of knowledge and experience to the practice situation, learning at every opportunity
- development of new skills and knowledge fundamental to professional practice, and
- development of a sufficiently professional attitude and demonstrating these behaviours in practice.
